Fleece and Rashes

I noticed that when I used a fleece topper on my sons cotton diapers to keep him dry that he developed a small eczema like rash where the fleece had been in contact with his skin. We just started using the fleece toppers and they cut from a fleece blanket I never used with him. He didn't have this rash before. Has anyone else had this problem? He doesn't react to fleece overalls we use on him now and again.

People can be allergic to polyester. I'm not sure if that could be it, since he can wear his other outfit. Unless it has something to do with the fleece in the diaper being wet and being held in very close contact with his skin.

Detergent residues also stick to synthetic a bit easier than with natural fibers. I wonder if it could be that.

I don't really know, though. Maybe some other mamas can help.

I was thinking it might be the detergent and it hanging onto synthetic longer. But then he wasn't reacting to his main diaper. The soap must have washed out of those then.

He might just be sensitive to it when it gets wet. If he doesn't get a rash with just the diaper, I would just try that.
