So I finally have a second to write, and my eyes are not crossing from fatigue. My beautiful boy was born 10/15 after 14 hours of hard labor, 7 hrs of which was excruciating back labor, with contractions lasting up to 2 minutes with one minute of rest in between. I attempted the shower, tub, birthing ball, hands and knees, all with DH pushing on my back. I stalled at 6 cm dilated, and my cervix would not budge. I arrived at the birth center at 5:30 am at 5 cm, and was at 6 cm at 3:30 pm. I think at some point i punched myself in the face during a contraction, and then after it subsided I looked at DH and said "ow"LOL. So at hour 13 I received a shot of nubain, which gave me a blessed 20 minutes of rest. At which point the contractions came fast and furious and I was about to scream for more drugs, instead I yelled out "i have to push", and he was coming out!!! My MW ran into the room and he was born in the bed after 4 pushes, @ 8 lbs, 5 ounces , 21 inches with a 14 1/2 inch head. So as much as I would have loved a serene water birth, my cervix liked the drugs!!! From 6 inches to practically crowning in 45 minutes. He is nursing like a champ, beautiful, healthy. We are all in love!! The nurses let me and theo take a bath in the birthing tub right after, which he loved!! So now we are home and loving our new little family member.Will try to post photos
