Pocket Diaper with cotton outer

I have been making CD's for years and I cannot make a functional pocket with a cotton outer that will not leak. I have tried everything I can think of, and I know that I am missing something. Is anyone out there making a pocket with or without gussets that works?

Never tried doing a cotton outer, but could you use PUL to make a binding around the edge? I'm guessing you tried FOE?

Of what I have read and heard, there isn't any way to make a diaper with cotton on the outer, even with hidden PUL, that doesn't wick or leak. They are very cute, especially the ones that WAHMs make, but I have been very leery at trying one.

Now, if you can use a cute poly knit print as the outer, you may do a lot better. Kymberli

I made covers w/pul on the inside & t shirt material on the outer w/no wicking. I just put right sides together sewed & flipped them the correct way after placing the elastic & topstitched. good luck!
