I feel like my "birth" story isn't finished. Like I'm still going through it. When the hospital was giving me my epidural they messed up. The first try, that person couldn't get it. So after a while, they called in the "resident". The staff person to do it. Well, he punctured too far and that in turn numbed me up to my throat and I couldn't swallow for like an hour. I totally freaked out! Well, for recover, I am having the residual side effects. The headache from the fluids leaking back through that hole. I went back today to have them check me out and I only have 2 options. One is to take some percocet and be on bedrest and no lifting of anything including baby for a couple of days. (Literally only 24 or 48 hours.) Second option is to have them do a "blood patch", which is comforting let me tell you. They basically try to insert the same method as an epidural (which remember they tried twice and screwed up) to insert my blood back into this hole to plug it up. I'm not really wanting to stand on "third times a charm" philosophy with this. Ya know? So we did the percocet route and I can only hold the baby. Not bend over with her or pick her up or anything for that matter. So when this whole ordeal is over and I'm feeling like I'm actually recovering from postpartum and not from this, I will post a birth story. I just wanted to update everyone here.
Also, baby Leah's jaundice level did rise a little bit more at today's check, but with my milk that came in this morning and her level not rising too high, they are giving us another check on Friday instead of tomorrow just to make sure that it isn't going to keep rising. But he's pretty confident that since my milk has come in and I'm doing everything else necessary, that her levels will lower just fine.
