Who here has gotten pregnant on the minipill?

Just want to see how many out there have gotten pregnant on the minipill. I've done a couple searches so far and it seems like a lot of women have. I've been on the mp since 6 weeks postpartum (AF returned at 5 weeks) and DS2 will be 5 months next week. AF is currently over a week late and I'm freaking out (and it looks like I have a right to be)!

My SIL got pregnant on the mini-pill. That's the only one I've ever heard of, but I know the effectiveness of the mini-pill is less than that of the combo pill. Is it like the combo pill in that you stop taking it and get your period during the placebo pills? If so, and you've been taking placebos and don't have it yet, yeah...I guess I'd be worried.

Do you have an update?

No update yet-- I'm too scared to take a test. AF is 2 weeks late now. There's no placebos on the minipill, you just take the pills continuously. Irregular bleeding/cycles is the most common side effect of the mini pill and some people don't even have a period while on it (especially if bf'ing), but I've had 4 postpartum periods so far which is why I didn't think it would just stop all of a sudden. If AF is still a no show next week or I start having pg symptoms (I usually get horrible morning sickness) then I'll have to break down and take a test.

i would test. i did get pregnant on the mini-pill. DD was a toddler, but it did happen to me--second cycle on it, too. that ended in a chemical pregnancy.

i hope it all works out the way you want

The mini pill has to be taken religiously at EXACTLY the same time daily. 5 minutes late can effect it.

I was on it and totally nervous and got the Mirena, that is about to be removed after a week, it is horrific. There is just not a effective, desirable, dependable birth control on the market.

UGH... sorry for my mini rant/vent. I am just soooo annoyed.

I got pregnant on the mini pill. Dd1 was two years old and I had not had AF yet before I got pg. I miscarried at 13 weeks. I'm not ever going to go on the mini pill again.

I am nursing and on mini pill and my periods have been really irregular. Yes some months, no other months, and the weeks that it starts has changed several times.

This is absolutely true. I got pregnant on the mini pill because I didn't take it at the same time each day, and have a wonderful 6 year old son to show for it .

Our third child is a mini-pill baby...... I had a timer and took it faithfully every day at the same time - one day I vomited up after a gall attack..............................9mths later we had another boy.

Not me but my friends SIL got pregnant with twins on the mini-pill. She had an infant when she got pregnant again! Can you imagine!

I had been on the mini pill for some time. I took my pill religiously at 2 pm every day and I am now part of the July 2011 DDC. Not sure how it happened, but not necessarily minding another being on the way.

one of my bf has gotten pg 4 times while taking the mini pill and bf'ing! and i've heard many similar stories. eta: you'd think she would try something else by now huh?

imho, the mini pill DOES NOT work while bf'ing!

I got pregnant nearly seven years ago on the Mini pill, I had only been on it a few weeks though, my daughter turned just fine : )
