Elijah entered the world after 18 hours of labor on a rainy Friday afternoon.
Weighing in at 7 pounds, he came out of me with both arms up by his head, like he was riding the most fun roller-coaster ever! And life with baby Elijah has been a roller coaster indeed -- so much more wonderful and so much harder than I could have imagined! I am blissfully over the moon with this baby.
In other news, in the way Life has of throwing you everything at once, yesterday night we said goodbye to our beloved dog, who died at home after a long battle with cancer. So basically the very happiest thing in my life so far and the very saddest thing both happened within a four-day time span. I'm still trying to wrap my head around how to feel so much joy and so much sorrow all at the same time.
