I have a 1 year old son who has been waking up every two hours (and sometimes more) for the last six months. He has eczema which may contribute to his wakefullness. (It is well under control now due to diet and lotion regimen.) I am wondering if other co-sleeping/breastfeeding parents have had success with Dr. Gordon's method. Here is our current bedtime routine: 6:30-7:00 bath and lotioning, 7:00-8:00 quiet playing/bedtime book/nurse to sleep, 8:00 put to sleep in crib. DS usually wakes up between 10:30 and 11:00 at which time DH brings him to bed and I nurse him to sleep. I continue to nurse him to sleep at least every two hours from this point forward until we get up for the day at 7:00 am. I am starting to feel ill from lack of sleep. (I also work full time so daytime naps are not an option for me.) I am thinking of trying Gordon's approach from 8 pm to 2 am. My main concern is that only partially weaning him will be confusing and I am not sure I am ready to fully night-wean yet. Any advice from others who have tried the Gordon method? Other ideas are also welcome!
