Sick

I woke up all last night with a sore throat. I looked and I have blisters on both sides. I am weak tired and achy. Flu maybe?

I told my mom hoping she would offer to entertain my daughter so I can rest. All she said was that i need to tell my doctor since its so late in pregnancy.

Do i need to tell my dr? Will it affect baby? No more labor signs since the cramping and diarrhea yesterday which could of been me getting sick?

I think you should ASK your mom directly for some help with your toddler. I'm not sure what the point of telling your doc would be. There isn't much they can do about it. Can you just get some extra vitamin c and rest? I have had a chest cold and that has been helping me.

Ugh, I'm right there with you. I've got the flu and it's pretty nasty. I'm cramping lightly today but have told my baby it's not allowed to come until Friday so I can kick this and not have to transfer care to the hospital setting.

I second asking your mom for help. If you start to run a fever, I'd say it run it past your care provider. I chose to take Tamiflu, which is an antiviral that helps reduce symptoms of the flu by 1-2 days, hoping I won't have during labor, but they can only give it within 48 hours of the onset of symptoms, so if you are thinking it's more of a flu, than you might want to go in.

Otherwise, I'm drinking lots of honey/lemon tea, water, and trying to keep eating for the baby. I hoping I'm on the upswing now.

I'm sick too, Vitamin D is great for fighting off colds and flus too. Shouldn't affect the baby at all, although if you are sick when bubs arrives there is a slim chance baby could get it, although your milk will likely protect against any issues. Just stay rested if you can and take good care of yourself.

There is a brand of elderberry supplement called Blockade that I took today when I started to feel a sore throat (along with echinacea, zinc, vitamin C, and vitamin D), and my sore throat went away. Which is unusual for me, so I think it really helped.
