Has anyone attempted a VBAC with twins?

I am 24 weeks with twins. My doctor told me today he had no problem with me going for a VBAC if that's what I wanted and that the risk was no greater with twins. I admit I'm a little scared. Anyone have success stories to share?

i think you should go for it, especially since you seem to have such a supportive doctor. Watch out for the bait and switch near the end and know that you can decline anything you don't want.

Go for it! Check out the Birth Stories forum.

Here.

And head on over to the Multiples Board and ask them. They'll have great resources and support. If this one is twins, I will definitely be HBACing!

I will be, hopefully in 7-9 weeks! You're very lucky to already have a supportive provider, as I really had to search to find one. Definately head on over to the Parenting Multiples forum and check out the birth stories. Several women have had one, and even more have had a successful hbac (home birth after cesarean).

I believe there is someone on ICAN who has had two successful twin VBAC's. I know for sure she had at least one, but I believe she had two.

I don't know anything with my current pregnancy, but if it is twins I will still attempt a VBAC (even if one is bum down).

As a mw assistant, I attended a vbac twin homebirth with baby A breech. It was great! Very affirming about how our bodies know to birth our babies! You can do it!

Nina Planck, a writer about baby nutrition/pregnancy, had a twin VBAC this past summer (August 2009) in NYC!! you can try checking her web site (though it was under construction a little while ago), I think it's just ninaplanck.com.

I am 16 weeks and plan to birth our twins at our local birth center (I'm also a vbac). However, this will be the only the second twin birth my midwives have attended so I am a bit nervous about that. I also have a supportive ob for backup in case I go early or something. I would also love to hear more about other women that have had successful vbacs with twins! I'm totally new to the forums (this is my first post) so I will check out the multiples board, too, but if you find any other great info or resources I would love it if you would share.

We can do this!!!! Our bodies were meant to give birth!

As a doula I attended a wonderful twin VBA2C with a really cool doc (who has since joined a really NOT cool practice *sigh*) who just really believes in VBAC. The mother was so excited and amazed when she had that vaginal birth! It was an honor to be part of that birth experience.

I had a twin HBAC. It really wasn't that big of a deal, and your doctor is right-- it's no more risky than singleton. I don't have the link off hand, but Dr. Landon at OSU has done a good bit of research on this.

Best of everything! Twins are a very special blessing!
