School and vaccines

I didn't realize schools did vaccines until the whole thing w/ the H1N1 and seeing another thread about Hep B. Something I thought about was-
1-why are schools even giving vaccines? What if something goes wrong-who is accountable?
2-what about the kids who do not get vaccinated? Are they alienated? I mean, does the whole class go at once and those not getting a vaccine stand to the side? Kids are going to see that others are not getting vaccinated and wonder why and I'm going to assume that some would prob pick on the others.

Believe it or not, this isn't something new. I remember being in elementary school, y'know, when dirt was still a new concept, and they did them. (Fwiw I'm 40.) I never got them at school because I'd already had the needed ones. I didn't realize this at the start, but later found out that was why. No one ever seemed to think anything about my not being in that line. I also think it's a really bad idea personally, but hey, no one in power asked me about it first!

I would instruct my children to say just that. I dont need it. And I am willing to bet they wouldnt be the only ones in that line, especially for something like H1N1, as not everyone gives there children even a seasonal flu shot. Its not required here in NYS.

Not all kids will go to these clinics...they are set up to catch the ones that have not had them from their own doc and are supposed to be a "convenience" for the parent (ie avoid another doctors office visit).
I wouldn't think kids who did not participate would be alientated as many of the kids will have or will be getting them in their doctors office anyway.
