seasonal affective depresssion/supplements?

the title says it all-my husband suffers from SAD and I want to try to find a supplement solution...does anyone have any experience with supplements helping?

also, if there is a cheaper supplement, that is preferred, because we are really struggling financially right now.

Fish Oil with 1000 mg EPA in the ingredient list and vitamin D3. that is what is supposed to help with depression and since we've been taking it in our house, we both feel better. the fish oil is expensive.....however, i feel it is worth it.

Totally agree with the advice above. I actually only take Vit D and haven't had any seasonal depression yet (it usually starts in the beginning of Oct for me since I'm in WI). I take 10,000 IUs a day (I'm nursing). You could probably get by with only taking 5,000 IUs a day and feel much better.
