Using Prefolds as Inserts?

My DS grew out of his prefolds and covers.. now I am thinking of getting some AIO's and Pockets. Is it true I can use the prefolds as the inserts in the Pockets? Or maybe as doublers in the AIOs?
What do you do with your prefolds when they no longer fit?

Yes, from what I understand, you can use prefolds as inserts and doublers.

I just bought my first pocket dipes (Happy Heiny's, so cute!) and am trying them out tonight, with a fleece insert wrapped in an infant prefold in the pocket. Peepers has never leaked overnight in a sposie yet, so we'll see how she fares tonight!

I was just given afew pockets abnd I used pfs in them. Great way to use ones that are too small . i fold current size down in front for more thickness

I always used prefold as inserts for pockets. When I first started CDing my older children, there were only FB's with inserts, so I always used PF's. I used infant ones (7-15 lbs) all of the time.

Just put them in the pocket like you would an insert? Fold um?

Prefolds make great (thought somewhat bulkier) inserts for pockets. Just trifold them, and use them like any other insert.

My experiment with a fleece insert plus prefold in a Happy Heiny didn't work last night - Peepers leaked. I'm going to try again tonight with tighter snapping and maybe a premium prefold.

Infant pfs make good pocket diaper inserts for sure. I used them exclusively in ds2's Green Acre Designs pockets.
