birth control, pain, and IUD's

I will start with saying I'm sorry if this is posted in the wrong section, if so please let me know the correct place. Ok now for my question.... What are options for birth control? Right now I have a IUD and my last 4 cycles have just gotten worse and worse as far as pain goes. At first it was ok but this cycle I have cried I hurt so bad. I really don't want birth control pills, the shot they gave me when I was younger caused me to bleed for 9 months, it was horrible. I tried charting but I got that wrong because I have a son. Do IUD's really cause this much pain?? My husband really doesn't want another kid, even if I do want more kids not for another 2 or more years. What does everyone else use??

I'm thinking about bc too. From what I've read, IUD's shouldn't be so painful. Do you have copper or the hormonal? My midwife recommended that I wear a copper bracelet for 3 months to see if I have a reaction. She mentioned it would be terrible to react with inflamation internally.

I have the copper, I wish I would have known they can cause a reaction. My husband wants it out of me no matter what, I called the doctor that put it in today but they don't know how much a self pay would cost for removal, so they will call me tomorrow and let me know, if its not free I am going to try to take it out myself because I don't have any insurance. My husband said that we can do charting again so we will try that, hopefully it works better for us this time but hes not scared so I guess it will be ok either way.
