how do you clean your bblp?

How do you clean your potties? We (for poo) fill with water and dump in toilet which dribbles down the front and then on the way to the tub where I wash with my hands and Dr Bronners. I think there may be a better or at least a variety of ways.

thanks!

i have a diaper sprayer hose thingy that attaches to the toilet. i've had it for about 6.5 years, and it is awesome. for cleaning the little potty, i just spray the inside of the potty (right over the toilet) and then wipe it out with a piece of toilet paper. i do that for poo and for pee. maybe once a week i take it to the sink and spray it down with citrasolv and wipe it down and then rinse it out to really clean it. but the rinse out/wipe down method gets it clean enough for my comfort during regular use.

i also have used the hose to clean off a poopy diaper prior to putting it in the laundry bin (haven't had to do that in a very long time, thanks to EC!), and i also use it to spray off clothes if they get really muddy or one of the kids makes a total mess with spaghetti or something, prior to washing. it's a handy little gadget!

Gross, I know, but the dog sometimes gets to it before I do. Practical...

But I've been doing the same rinse, dump, leak, rub, wipe the floor routine so I look forward so hearing other mamas tips

Funny story, my SIL's dog liked eating the poo out of her ds potty so much, I caught my nephew doing his business directly into the dog bowl! hihihi!

I know, what is it with dogs and baby poop?

I fill with water and dump in the toilet then rinse it out again in the sink, occasionally wipe with a wipe if I can see poop that didn't swish away. I think I poured some vinegar in there the other day, but only because I had a cup with some vinegar in it on the bathroom counter.

I'm getting a diaper sprayer if I have another baby!

i know i am the original poster but OMG I was mortified the other day when I realized the potty was clean because one of our dogs ATE it. Yuck. It made me feel weird.

Hmm, our potty lives beside the toilet, and I've never had issues with dribbles (or at least never noticed )

But if you're talking about the actual cleaning (ie.disinfecting) part then I had a lightbulb moment the other day about this... I had an extra peri-bottle hanging around and I filled it with a mix of water & pine-sol. Now when he goes potty, I add water to it from the sink, dump & then rinse with the peri bottle solution. If necessary, I wipe with TP. You could also use tea tree oil for the disinfecting purpose (instead of the pine-sol), I just don't care for the smell of TTO.
