Chickpea question

Thread Starter
So I have a pot of chickpeas soaking because I finally remembered to buy tahini so I can make some hummus for the first time. Some of them have sort of a skin coming off as they are soaking. Do I leave those on/with the chickpeas before pureeing? Or do I need to remove and discard them?

Leave them on - life is too short to peel chickpeas!

Awesome! I just wasn't sure what was up with them. I didn't want to screw up the texture or something. Thanks!

I always just leave them on as I am too lazy, but your hummus will be smoother if you have the time to remove the peels.

that's how I feel about potatoes.

I never remove the peels. I make my hummus in the blender instead of in the food processor, also I like extra tahini so my hummus comes out incredibly smooth. It is a staple in our house I make it weekly! You will be hooked!

I could just eat some hummus. I went off it when pregnant and I'm so glad it I stomach it again. Make it with extra lemon and fresh coriander. Or a hint of chilli. Yum.
