Woohoo! 100purewool and HPY have come my way!!

So much gratitude to my friend Gillian (I don't think she visits here anymore, but she was once an MDC regular). Anyhow, she came by yesterday to drop off some clothes, fitteds, PFs and....about 7 skeins of wool!! Not just wool, but baby-bum loving HPY and 100purewool!!

So, I am stoked to knit some more baby goodies, but I already have newborn soakers, small, mediums, etc...

I want a cute sweater pattern...what would you knit??

Ok, no suggestions here, but I am curious how the 100purewool holds up for baby items. Does it pill much? I'm assuming it's the single-ply you're talking about, the stuff that's similar to Malabrigo...

It's soooo soft! You're a lucky lady.

Yes, it pills and felts very easily. This is why I stick to newborn soakers/longies only with it.

I decided to cast on a simple top down placket neck pullover for baby so far.

I'm keeping my eyes open for some single ply to do a Ribbed Baby Jacket in.

I always eye that jacket when I go through baby patterns. Wish it were top down...suppose I could convert it.

OT, I'd be happy to send you some of this FFS if you'd like. I'll try to find pics of the colorways I've got.

ETA: One is defintely Pacifico.

I just finished this, but in the DB Cashmerino Aran that the pattern calls for. It is very soft in that stuff, but would be ridiculously soft in single ply.

Now if only I could figure out how to make my stupid side seams look good.

Wow! What a generous friend! That's so nice of her!

I'm suddenly wondering why *my* friends don't bring by lovely wool for me...??

Oh bless you But it's OK- I'm about to throw my ethical principles to the wind, though I can't decide what I'm getting- I'm planning something like the roselette top for DD, and I want single ply for that too. Oh, that's another one to throw out for your consideration... do you know if this one is boy or girl? And then if it's HPY, I should really get some roving to christen the new spinning wheel with...

Say hi to Gillian for me next time you see her. I haven't seen her post in ages.
