I work as a Nanny and my 10.5 month old comes to work with me every day. We came back to work when she was 6 weeks old and are here 50 hours a week so she is very comfortable. For as long as I can remember she has been napping in her infant car seat that is on one of the snap-in swing frames and loves it. (eflux as a newborn!) She is in a toddler car seat now so I don't have to carry it around anymore and just leave it here. She used to occassionally sleep in the pack and play - sometimes better than others - but I haven't been trying it because I got rid of the paci around 9 months and I know she would cry now. She does not usually cry at all in the swing, will sometimes fuss for a minute or 2 but any hard crying and I get her up and nurse or start over. At home for bedtime and naps I lay down with her to nurse and stay until she falls asleep. There really isn't a place to do that here and not much of an option to make one unless it is on the floor. The room she sleeps in is an office/playroom/guestroom so if I made a bed on the floor she would be surrounded by toys and that might be too much to ask of her! She has been walking since 9 months so safety is a real concern. As I am typing this I am realizing that the pack and play is my only real option - unless someone has a great suggestion? Also - was anyone else in this situation and how long did your LO sleep in the car seat? She's not a big baby so I think we have time but eventually I will need another option. If I transition to the pack and play any advice on that would be greatly appreciated. CIO in any way isn't an option for me.
