If so, how did you do it?

I've never heard of slow cooking a fish. What gave you the idea? It might turn the fish to mush, but it might make it nice and tender and yummy. Let us know if you try it.

Well, I did know a guy who swore by steaming whole salmons in the dishwasher, but I've never heard of using the crock pot.

I'd worry that it would get over done, as I despise overcooked salmon. (overcooked meat in general actually! )

Any particular reason you're doing it in the crock?

I would bake or grill it.

I wanted to do it in the crockpot just because I needed something that was ready the moment we got home. I was looking at recipes and many call for it to be wrapped in foil and baked, so I was wondering if anyone's done that in the slow cooker. We have a deep freezer full of salmon we caught and I am always on the lookout for new ways to cook it!

I didn't try it, I ended up making something else, but if I do I'll let you know

I don't see why not especially on low, and yumm a whole freezer full of salmon! You are speaking to my Alaska heart! I googled and found this http://crockpot365.blogspot.com/2008...on-recipe.html and while you don't have to season it that way looks like good tips with the foil etc.

No, but we bake potatoes and cakes (separately, not together ) in the crock pot, so I bet there is a way....

If you have the time to experiment, what about cooking a piece all day on the warm setting? I know since fish cooks quickly and is so delicate this might be a way to cook it long and slow. Just thought.

You might be able to make something like a salmon chowder or salmon cioppino?
