I can't believe it. I went over an hour in the rain to Joanns today, took all 7 of my children (after unsuccessfully not getting my sitter last minute), let them pick out fabric for hoodies and pants, and then flannel for more diapers, and fleece for the baby's sleep sacks. Well, by the time they checked us out, I had saved over $250, and I got my homeschooling teacher's discount to help with it even. The lady was at the customer desk that checked me out. She put the bags on the floor next to the counter, as I was still taking thread out of my basket. I started to put my bags back into the basket, didn't think much of it. I had 2 bags of fabric and a bag of thread and patterns. I leave, and it takes me a while to get everyone loaded. Everyone did well, except my 5yo son, who still ran around a bit, but was better than the last time when it as my husband's idea to take all of them. But, he was possibly going to be on call tomorrow, so I wanted to get plenty to pick from, if I was going to end up taking them all anyway.
I had DD put the 2 bags in my closet, and just brought them out to show my DH what "he bought" today. I get through all the fleece, when I realize that I only had 3 flannel prints. I specifically remember wondering how she got all that fabric in two big bags, but it was 2 fabrics and one notions. I have at least another dozen pieces of flannel sitting at Joann's in my 4th bag.
And, we live over an hour away, and it will rain again tomorrow.
Fortunately, he is home tomorrow. But, also, the Quilt Expo that I was sacrificing to go to JA today, is tomorrow in the city, right near JA. So, DH then mentioned, "well, I guess you will be going to the expo after all?" I'm like, "oh, yeah, I forgot about that since I figured I couldn't go if you worked anyway." He did mention me skipping it anyway. When he said he could be on call, I was glad I didn't reserve classes after all.
So, I don't know if I will go to the Expo or not. I can't afford to take classes now anyway, but I could pay $10 to go in and look at all the quilts.
I was in near tears when I realized what I did. I am sure they have the bag sitting there, waiting on me to call or show back up. Certainly the lady would remember me with all those kids, and since I paid by check, then she would even have my phone number. But, I was none the wiser until 1am today. I just didn't think to inventory when I got out to the van and it was raining some on my fabric busting out of my bags.
How likely is it that they put it all in remnants or something?
Argghhh!! I have the receipt and I checked off all the fabrics that I have. I am going to bed and praying that they will know who that bag belongs to so I can go get it. Kymberli
