something might be happening...update post 6

Yesterday night I was having lots of BH ctx accompanied by rectal pressure. This morning after I went to the bathroom, I saw a little clump of mucus in the toilet and some flecks of blood on the TP. Then a while later I felt a small gush of fluid, not enough to overrun a pantyliner, but with a definite pink hue.

When my water broke with my son, it was so dark I thought there was meconium in it, but it turned out to be blood. I'm assuming then that the little gush I just had is amniotic fluid. It couldn't possibly have been urine for the color it is.

I am not sure yet if my contractions this morning are BH or the real thing, but they do produce an uncomfortable amount of rectal pressure. Does this mean Baby isn't lined up properly, or is it normal? When I had my son, I never felt pressure back there until it was time to push.

I hope this is it for you!

Ftr, I have rectal pressure during contractions too. So its either normal, or we're both weird!

Sounds like something's happening! Good luck!

Last week when I was having ctx's, I felt like I had to sit on the toilet most of the time. I think it might mean that the baby's head is pushing through!!

Good luck mama!! You're going to have a baby!

Update: I don't seem to be leaking any more fluid. There is no pattern to the ctx; they vary from 5-12 minutes apart, but they have been happening all morning. They are stronger than they were, but all concentrated in my lower belly. I don't feel any wrapping action going on.

So I sort of feel that I have no idea if this is labor or not. I am GBS+ though-- how long should I wait before I call my OB? I am sure that gush of pinkish fluid earlier wasn't urine and wasn't my imagination.

I don't think it would hurt to call your OB now. Just let them know what's up and see what they are thinking. Better to be on the safe side!

If you call your ob they will have you come in and get tested for amniotic fluid. If it is positive they will want to start antibiotics and probably start pit for more regular contractions.

I had another gush of pink fluid when I put my son down for his nap. I tried to lie down myself, but I think the ctx are stronger lying down, so now I'm sitting on my exercise ball. Hope to see my baby girl by tonight!
