What was Fitzroy Communit like? Very curious.

There is also an alternative school in St. Kilda but I can't remember the name.

Hi CAmum,

I really liked FCS-- a small school (60ish? if i remember correctly) and had a good vibe-- there was even a naked 18 mo old running around the kitchen (her dad is the principal).....unfortunately they are wait-listed until 2013 ( there goes that...we would only be in Melb for 2 years, 3 maximum.

if we end up moving to Melb. (it would be this April) we will send him to melbourne community school (http://www.melbournecommunityschool.com/mcs/). really liked the Steiner (http://www.stkildasteinerpreschool.vic.edu.au/index.htm) next door as well-- may send him there before he starts at mcs.

although must say that at the moment I am starting to think we may end up going the homeschool route-- all so confusing and don't know yet how it will all trickle down

good luck!
