15 month old and sleep (much needed sleep)

my daughter gets home from school at 5, and immediately wants to nurse and fall asleep for an hour, but then she won't go to bed until after 9. i think she's tired , but she won't settle, then she gets silly tired! and she's up every hour or two crying wanting to nurse back to sleep-she only wants me, screams at my husband

i really could use some help. . .do i stop her from taking that evening nap, or how do i get her down, or ahhh, help please; we are all tired

I can't let DS sleep after 5 or he doesn't go to bed until too late and is up even earlier in the morning. I would try skipping the evening nap, and put her to bed earlier. Since DS has been down to one nap a day (generally a late morning nap) he as been going to bed around 6:30 in the evening.
