Hey y'all! Once a upon a time I used to post here under the screen name frodo. Well, it's been a long strange trip. Lots has happened.
For those of you who were around back then (maybe 5 or 6 years ago?) I'm now living in the Hudson Valley in a little cottage on the edge of a wetland. Damien is turns 12 tomorrow, and likes to be called Ein now. His passions are animals, especially reptiles, science and art. He likes reading, especially field guides, and has an obscene amount of Legos. My daughter Shakti, who was a toddler when I left the forums, is now 7. She loves to sing, dance, do yoga, play soccer, run, jump, wiggle, rock, and roll. She loves to help me in the kitchen, and has asked me to make her a baker's hat. Both kids are now in public school now. Ein is in the 6th grade and Shakti is in 2nd. Suresh and I separated long ago, and I'm now seeing Matt, my neighbor just up the road, whom I met riding the bus!
For those of you who weren't around back then or don't remember me, I'm a 37 year old mother of 2. Our family is Pagan; we also were members of a UU congregation back in Rochester, although we haven't attended the one in Kingston yet. We have a tabby cat named Misty, two goldfish named Spots and Darkstar, and Ein will be getting a bearded dragon lizard named Eragon for his birthday (which has him walking on air!) Someday I would like to have chickens, guinea hens, and possibly goats, but we're not quite at the point where we're ready for them yet. We're all lacto-ovo vegetarians, except for Matt, and Ein I guess occasionally eats fish at school.
