proper intro and hello

Hi,

I read here a lot and post here a little and i realised i should say hi and introduce myself.

I'm Bec, with my partner for 3 years, have a 3.5year old DD by my XP, and living in Scotland in the UK. We're pregnant after 2 losses (i had 2 with XP) and due around June 1st.

I had an NHS HB with DD, and we're planning a HB with a private midwife this time, BUT i admit, my fantasy birth is a UC. I don't know why. I have a vision of delivering on my knees and lifting my baby up myself and not having anyone but DH there.

Because this is his first baby i don't think it's fair to ask UC of him (we have talked about it, and one-to-one MW care does make a big difference to me, and makes it much less of a compromise) but i have already said that if the baby comes before she can get here it's cool, she can just come and hang out with me for the placenta.

So this is me, and here i am. I really think there is a UC somewhere in my future, if not with this babe, perhaps with the next. I hope you don't mind me hanging here with one foot in the door just appreciating your wisdoms and stories.

Of course you are welcome here. Who knows maybe your partner will come around during the pregnancy and enjoy the experience.

Good luck on your birth path whatever way you choose to go
