As it sits right now all Kidney failure/transplant patients automatically qualify for Medicare, but following the transplant Medicare only pays for the life saving anti-rejection drugs for 3 years. Leaving the patient to figure out a way to pay the $3000+ a month bill for their medications. Unlike some medications the formula is so precise that switching to less expensive generics isn't an option.

In the House version of the health care bill it eliminates this Medicare cap, but it is thus far NOT in the Senate version of the bill. Please write to your members of Senate to get them to add the provision to their bill and eliminate the 3 year cap.
