Anyone wash just with water in the shower? today, I just washed my hair and face with soap....and walked out feeling clean. Would the excess oils still be removed? Whats the best way to cut out the soap on my hair but still remove the grease as well? it feels so much better to just wash with water. i shower 2-3 times a week and wash my face 1-2 times a day and keep my hair braided/in a ponytail. anyone else??

Washing only with Water?

I don't see a problem with it and I'd wash without water if I didn't have body odor, but ever since I was a kid, I've had the worst body odor. I must be really toxic. I use Dr. Bronner's soap, not all over my body, but just armpits. I actually give my daughter a bath with just water. I don't see a point in using soap on her, and like you said it will just remove the skin's natural oils.

I use baking soda in my hair twice a week. Those are the only days i shower, as well (and use DB, too). The other days, i take DB's advice: fill a sink with hot water and a few drops of DB and wash with a wash cloth. And i only use water on my face.
I feel so much healthier this way and am no appalled at how i used to shampoo, condition and scrub myself silly EVERY DAY. It's no wonder i had a flakey scalp, acne and dry skin!

I do use shampoo/conditioner daily- I have really oily hair, and I don't feel like I'm quite ready to break through the greasiness barrier to do the no poo thing quite yet.
In the shower, I wash my "pits and my bits" with soap daily, but not the rest of my bod. I just rinse it with water and use a washcloth for exfoliation every few days. My skin has become less ashy and tight since I stopped using soap every day.

No-pooing didn't help my face, just my hair. Actually nothing can help my face--still working on figuring out what it needs, but i've found that soap makes it flakey and tight. It's the bane of my existence.

(Sorry to hi-jack!) You can buy it at health food stores. There's a drug store called Savemart in my area that has it crazy cheap, so i'd assume there are other drug stores that carry it. There's a store locator on the web site you could check. Remember that it looks expensive, but all agree that it lasts a long time!
