Any gluten free moms with cycle issues after starting diet?

I've discovered recently that I'm gluten intolerant. I've been adhering to a gluten free diet for a few months now. I've only recently began to consider that I may have some vitamin deficiencies after eliminating the fortified breads and cereals that took up a large part of my diet in the past. Last month, I started spotting 8 days past ovulation which is totally abnormal. I spotted all the way up until my period began. Actually, it was difficult to determine when my 'real' period began because my periods always start with light spotting. I have a theory that this may be related to some vitamin deficiency I may be experiencing since adapting to the gluten-free diet.

Has anyone experienced something similar? If so, what have/are you doing about it. I'm also wondering if there's some vitamin regimen recommended for people on a gluten-free diet need to be on to make sure we aren't deficient?

Hi. I am gluten free, but didn't find it affected my cycle. However you might be deficient in b6? I know B6 can help with spotting/luteal phase defect. Also, Vitex is a good one for regulating hormones.
I take a multi daily, along with extra b6,vitex,calcium&magnesium,fish oil and starflower oil.
Hope this helps.

Interesting question. I think I have experienced some vitamin deficiency as well. I felt great for a long time after going GF. Then after about a year I started feeling really bad! I started taking a b complex and inositol to help regulate my cycles (I have pcos too) and it has worked wonderfully. I feel a lot better too. Maybe try a b-50 complex and get your iron levels checked?
