HOW do you stop the rings from slipping down?

nak

Unpadded, SBP'd maya wrap here. The rings are constantly slipping down even though the shoulder is correct and fabric stretched over my back, etc. I've been told it's because I am thin, that RS's do this on thinner mamas. Any truth to this? I'm just wondering if I'll get better at this, because the shoulder just doesn't stay put. I should've gotten a CJ pouch or something without rings, I guess.

Do they come down while adjusting or just when walking around?

Both. Maybe I am sling impaired.

when you're adjusting it, you need to hold the baby's weight with one hand, make sure that *all* the slack is out of the fabric that's coming around your back, and when you pull the fabric through the rings, don't pull straight down - you have to pull at an angle. if the rings are slipping while you're wearing it, you don't have it tightened nearly enough - the fabric should not be able to move. it doesn't matter about being thin with an unpadded ring sling - if you've got it on properly it should work fine.

once you do get it to a happy place, don't completely loosen it every time you take it off. just loosen it enough to get the baby out (sometimes it's only necessary to loosen the top rail, and just a little bit). then you don't have reinvent the wheel, so to speak, everytime you put it on. i know when my DH would use my RS on occasion (he is waaaay bigger than me with very broad shoulders) i would tighten it down without the baby in it first, then put the baby in and tweak. if i tried to put it on all loose like that, there was no way i was going to get it nice and snug with everything in the right spot.

have you looked at the videos on zolowear.com? they are really good ones, very helpful in learning the ins and outs of wearing a ring sling.

I think these two things are the biggest part of my problem. That, and being sleep deprived, which often = frustration.

Thanks for helping me. I'll check out Zolowear, too.
