What are legitimate concerns of accepting milk for your baby from someone else?

Just curious. I have had friends donate my baby milk while I'm struggling with supply, and had a friend nurse her. I'm not concerned in the slightest, but someone acted like it was awful. In fact, they used the word "reckless". Anyway, it would be nice to actually know the "risks" of using a friend's milk for your baby so I can share the info!

I love how it seems much more logical to people to use milk from another species instead of another human.

A few blood born diseases can be passed through bm. The risks are very low but still there. I think Hep A / B and HIV.

I donated to a bm bank and those were the primary things they were concerned with. They tested for a range of stuff but that is what I asked over the phone.

I believe that certain illegal substances can also pass thru milk as well as other drugs which could be passed to the baby.

I'd want to make sure that the Mama donating to me didn't use crystal meth, or cocaine, and that she wasn't on chemo, and didn't have HIV or HTLV. I'd have to read up about Hep C transmission.

Most breastfeeding moms who offer to donate would most likely not use drugs/meds that would harm baby or have any of the conditions I mentioned!
