Just want to say

thanks to MDC mamas for providing a place for non-CIO families to share ideas, stories and frustrations!

I live in a crunchy city in the NW and belong to a moms group that fits the profile for no-CIO in the sense that folks are bf'ing, babywearing etc. I can't believe the number of discussions on the merits of CIO in this group

Glad we can all find alternative ideas here. Yay MDC!

I was totally shocked when most of the mums in our natural ante-natal group (natural pregnancy, natural birth, more than half the grouped planned homebirth, homeopathy, waterbirths, osteopathy, exclusive breastfeeding, babywearing, co-sleeping, no-vax/selective vax...) started talking about the benefits of CIO during our babies' first six months. The first mention already when their baby was only 3 weeks old ("We had to try Tough Love", because baby wouldn't sleep the 8 hours at a stretch mum needed). By 6 months the few of us who were co-sleeping and/or didn't like the idea of CIO just stayed qiuet as the others discussed how many hours it took their babies to go to sleep every night.

MDC rocks!
