WOW looks like a bunch of us have been busy these past couple of days LOL! Malcolm Richard was born at 7:53 this am! He's 7 lbs 13.6oz 21 1/4 inches long. So much for the 11lber I dreamt I was having!
6:30 I started having intense contractions and then at 8 I had bloody show. Once the kids woke It petered to next to nothing and took advantage of the time to nap. At 9pm once the kids went to bed, contraction started in ernest! Very painful but widely spaced. At about 5am I was having my doubts about being able to do it, and I had DP check me. Mostly effaced and 3 cm dilated. Contractions started getting harder and faster and nothing helped relieve the pain. I decided to transfer. We got in and once we got registered and a short strip done, the dr checked me.... 7cm. I got to 8 and was screaming for an epidural LOL! They started theIV but they didn't push the fluids. It was a race, epidural or baby. The baby won! I was there less then an hour and I was pushing (I still had a lip). It was the most primal thing I've ever experienced, I couldn't hold back if you threatened me! He was out in about 3 contractions! Not only that but he was born under the caul and dr delayed cord clamping as requested. I didn't have then UC waterbirth I planned but wow what it incredible and just happened the way he wanted it to be. No tears, just a couple of abrasions. We're leaving really soon, just waiting for my rhogam. Successful Hospital VBAC!
