Waldorf Doll Noses

I know they're not traditional but I cannot resist a Waldorf doll with a cute button nose!!!

What method do you use to make yours? Any fabulous tips?

I use a small circle of felt with a wad of wool tucked under it. I then just hand stitch it to the inner body before overlaying with the interlock/skin. HTH.

Oh, this is an interesting method. I wonder if using the felt would help the nose from wearing through which happens so often with noses.

I usually tease a dime sized area of some wool up from the head ball just under the eye string line, a bit, using a strong needle. Once I get the nose the size I want, I stitch all around it, in a circle, crossing under the wool with the needle and thread pulling slightly and shaping the nose. Then cover with the skin tone knit fabric.

I have also used a circle of the interlock. Neither has worn through yet. I think the DRD kit uses a similar method. HTH.

Yes she does. I'm getting ready to do my 4th doll, but my 1st DRD pattern. I'm flip flopping between a nose or no nose. I'm wondering if the nose will make the doll more attractive to DD1 and more "baby like" than those without noses.

I have found that the position of the nose seems to make the doll look older or younger, with a higher nose looking more like a baby.

I used a simple gather method for the nose of my doll. Instructions here:

It's pretty simple and takes only a few seconds. You don't need to sew any new parts on.

I sew a wooden bead to the inner and then overlay with my doll skin.
