Article: "No Einstein in Your Crib? Get a Refund"

Interesting NY Times article - "Parent alert: the Walt Disney Company is now offering refunds for all those ”Baby Einstein” videos that did not make children into geniuses.

They may have been a great electronic baby sitter, but the unusual refunds appear to be a tacit admission that they did not increase infant intellect."

Strange.

Rather interesting that they are finally admitting their claims were basically fraudulent. Wonder if the 'Your baby can read!' people will start changing their tune next? lol

The sad thing is I am sure the Disney scientists are in the lab right now trying to find the next "make your baby smart" product.

The best thing those companies could do to enrich young minds would be to close up shop.

Just my not-so-humble opinion!

Yes, I read this this morning. I have to admit, we got a few of these videos for our first babe & the other two watched them occasionally, as well. I hope I didn't scar them for life! I never thought it was educational, though.....I just needed a shower!

ditto. I use them when I need to get dinner done and stuff like that. Though I do have to say my 2 year old picked up a bunch of sign language from them.

I never really thought my kids would become geniuses from these, LOL!!! But they made car trips a lot easier, and I never would have showered with my first if they didn't exist!
