What happened to this cover? Can it be saved?

We have 4 thirsties covers, and one of them is no longer working. I don't know what I could have done differently with this one, but it's the only one, the rest are great. It's now leaking to the point that it can't be used. When my dd wets her diaper, it soaks right through the cover in her crotch area. It's like it's not waterproof anymore. When I rinse it the sink, I can actually see the areas that are letting the water go right through. What did I do wrong? I treat all my covers the same way, so I hope this isn't just the first one, and the rest will be soon to follow.

Here's how I wash them:
Many times I just rinse them in the sink and hang dry to keep them fresh between actual washes. I wash it about every 7-10 days. I use cold water with Arm and Hammer detergent (not the horrible one with enzymes in it, just the regular one-- I know, I know, I should use a diaper detergent, but I can't afford to. I use the A&H on our clothes, but Purex F&C on our diapers. I've been doing this for over 2 years without any problems of any kind). I hang them to dry. The thing that confuses me the most is that this particular cover is my least favorite color of thirsties, so I use it much less than the other 3 thirsties, and I'll often grab a nylon pull-on or a wool cover before this one. I bought it new in the spring, so I've had it for about 7ish months. It's the 1st time I've ever had this happen with a cover. Maybe it's not something I did? Is this just something that happens?

Can I save it? Or is it ruined? Any advice? I just can't afford to buy expensive detergent that would have to be shipped to me. I am willing to switch to something available in regular stores, though, if that would help. TIA!!

Can Thirsties be put in the dryer? If so, I'd give that a try - do a hot wash and a hot dry. Apparently sometimes it helps to fix leaky covers (don't ask me how, something about sealing the PUL?). Good luck!

Yup! Try this. We put ours in the dryer for a bit and it can help. Actually each wash (except in summer) we put them in the dryer for about the first 15 minutes. They are recommended to hang or put on low heat (we do high), but it can seal in the PUL. Hope this helps!

Oh and does it look okay or does something look different on it than the others in that area?

If it still won't work, I would contact the company. It's past their return deadline, but I think sometimes they do repairs to diapers... it would be worth checking with them, anyway! Who knows, maybe they had a bad batch of that color or something.

I've always had good customer service when I've worked with Thirsties.
