Diapers giving DD a rash

We've been using cloth 60 percent of the time for about a year now and in the past month, my DD began developing a rash. We use disposable diapers when we are out of the house for long and overnight, and I noticed that the rash would disappear after wearing a 'sposie, but would return once she wore cloth again for a few hours.

I did a couple of extra washings, a vinegar rinse, but the rash came back. We just moved three hours away, so we've moved to disposable full-time during the transition. I want to get back to cloth, though.

I'm very close to just going out and buying a new batch of prefolds. Is there anything else I should try first? I'm guessing there might be some mildew growth on the diapers (I wash them every other day, but maybe that's not often enough?). I'd really hate to throw them away.

When you are running a hot cycle w/no soap do you see bubbles? If so it could be build up. IMO cold rinses do nothing to get detergent out. Have u switched det.? 1 day my dd became very sensitive to what we had always used. good luck

I couldn't use vinager in my finial rinise cycles with out giving my DD horrid rashes. I eaither dropped it (certain areas where hard water made it worse) or did used it in the intial prerinse only and the rashes went away.
We alos got to the point where adding jsut a dab of bleach totally knocked out the rashes.

All of the above are good suggestions. YOu can also try boiling them! That will help get rid of residue, and also kill anything that might be growing in there. Good luck!
