Nursing a sick toddler and a newborn?

Anyone know if this is okay to do? I'm scared the baby might catch something, but I think he's coming down with a sinus/ear infection secondary to a cold he's had for the past week (which he gave to me and I recovered from in ~3 days, this was prior to giving birth). The baby is 2 days old. Help.

I've never had a sick child while we had a newborn in the house but I've bf'ed a sick child and non-sick child and never noticed any increased rate of illness other than what you'd expect from living in the same home. If you are concerned you could gently wash your breast between feedings.

Thanks - he spiked a high fever, turns out it's strep.

I was told threw reading & LLL meetings that it is safe & denificial to keep nursing both. There saliva tells your breasts what anitbodies to make so they are both getting help fighting it off even if you dont get sick.
