Sleep Medication?

So I am not sleeping because I keep worrying about stuff (finances, our future etc.) Is there something I can take to help me sleep?

At the risk of appearing as if I'm giving any type of medical advice, have you tried diphenhydramine (Benadryl, Simply Sleep, Tylenol PM, etc) as a temporary fix until you can seek medical advice from a professional?

I posted in the health section yesterday. I am going to try Melatonin. I have to call my GYN about my BC prescription, so I will see if they can offer advice.

I have a regular Doc but I haven't seen her yet. So its not like I can call the office for advice. Something they won't do over the phone.

what has worked for me:

ambien---especially ambien CR and lunesta.

remember, they are habit forming (just b/c you like the sleep you get when you take them).

Melatonin seems to make me depressed.

I can recommend ambien too. Melatonin didn't help me at all. There are other drugs that are not habit forming. You might want to consider these.

Ambien works, but its my husbands prescription. I go to my Doc in a couple of weeks I will ask her for my own prescription.

Try drinking herbal teas that have natural sleep aids.
And dont eat right before bed.
