Is anyone out there planning on vaxing their toddler for H1N1 due to newborn at home?

Sorry for the long thread title!
I have tried to navigate my way through the October H1N1 thread and my head is spinning. We are a selective vax family, and never get the flu shot. However...my son just turned 3 and just started preschool at a Waldorf school (fairly non-vaxed community), and I have a 3 week old at home. I am seriously considering getting him the H1N1 vax if it becomes available to us. Is anyone else in the same boat? I am scared of the vaccine, but I am also scared of my newborn getting the virus.

We are not in that situation but I beg you to think about what you may be doing to your 3yo. The vaccine contains mercury for sure besides a bunch of other things that should NEVER enter into a human body.

Are you nursing your newborn? That is his best chance of staying healthy. And if your toddler gets sick, give him some bm also.

I'm in the same boat. Selectively vax, 3 YO just started preschool, but our newborn baby is 5 months old.
My son's pediatrician's office called the other day to offer us a vax, since they had received 100 doses, but we declined.

No vaccines here

I am overdue to have my baby and will not vaccinate. After weighing the risk and benefits it is far more risky to get the vaccine in my opinion.

Getting the vaccine is injecting not only toxins into your toddler but it puts a hit on the immune system.

Breastfeeding protects the newborn. The way nature intended.

I am not in your situation but I promise you I would not vaccinate for H1N1 if I had a toddler and a new baby.

by the way, I was around for the swine flu in 1976. I am so glad my parents did not give me the vax shot for it then.

I'm not in your shoes at the moment, but I know that I would not vax my older child to protect my other one. That just doesn't sit right with me. Breastfeeding will give the immunity your baby needs.
