Healthy calorie-dense foods for weight gain?

I hope no one hates me for writing this, but I lose too much weight post-partum. With my twins I was 115/120 prepregnancy and by 6 months post-partum I was struggling to stay above 102 (I'm 5'4).
I pumped for my twins until they were almost 12 months old and once I stopped I slowly gained back up to 112/115.
Now my new baby is 5 months old and prepregnancy with him I was 115, and now I'm down to 113 even though i am trying to eat a lot.

I've had my thyroid checked when i got down to 102 and I had it checked while pregnant last fall and its always just fine. I must just have a very high metabolism and then making breastmilk I'm needing to consume more calories than I am???

So, if that is the case, what can I eat that is healthy and calorie dense? Anyone else have this happen to them?

Check out the Weston A Price Foundations diet for pregnant and nursing moms. It will be stellar nutrition for you and your nursling AND plenty of nutrient-dense calories!!

Thank you! I will try this! I know I am so busy with 3 children under age 3 that I don't eat as much as I should, but I do try to eat when I can, but I still am consistently losing weight each week. I'm sure nursing Aaron takes a lot of calories on top of my high metabolism. I don't know where to buy raw milk around here (wisconsin)? Thank you!

I was cutting carbs to control a yeast/parasitic infection. Though I was getting 2,000 calories per day (I had to track them on fitday.com) and 70% fat, I lost sooo much weight. Got down to 92 lbs (I'm 5'2). I added back plenty of whole foods carbs and finally put back on all the weight I lost (back up to 105).

So, low carb really does make you lose weight, and high carb causes you to gain. The trend is to think high carb= unhealthy but I eat whole foods: whole grains, legumes, fruit, honey, potatoes, etc.

I'm not sure about getting raw milk in wisconsin, but you can check out realmilk.org (run by the wapf I beleive), I think they have a resource guide for each state. Also maybe ask at your nearest farmer's market, or other foodie places. Ask your WAPF chapter leader.

and if you absolutely cannot find raw milk, un-homogenized whole milk from grass-fed cows will still help.
