Ds (16 months) is going to be spiderman. He got excited when he saw the costume in the store and had to have it.

He is such a decisive little fella. Once he makes up his mind, he makes up his mind.

Dd (8) is going to be a vampire. We even got her one of those little teeth kits before realizing she doesn't have canines atm.

Woops. Now we have to find her some other teeth.

aww

DD 4.5 wanted to be a Super Hero. I pressed for more info, and he just gave me the look that I thought I wasn't supposed to get until my kids were teenagers. You know, the "Mom, you are an idiot" look. So finally he said, "I want to be SUPER ALLEN!" (His name is Allen) So I dressed DD (16mo) to match. Here are my two Super Heroes

DD (16 months...well, almost) is going to be a puppy. There were other costumes that were probably cuter (like the panda or the monkey), but my DD is OBSESSED with dogs.

I feel like if DD could understand what Halloween is or what 'dressing up' is, she would most definitely ask to be a puppy. So that's what we went with.

6 yo Snow Princess, 5 yo Mermaid, 3 yo Spiderman, and a 21 mo dragon. My girls' costumes are made of fleece and can fit over other clothing... they ffffffroze last year. It was miserable -- this year they will be warm!

ETA My 21 mo might end up not being anything but himself -- it depends on his mood! LOL

That's awesome (the reaction and the costume). So was he happy with your idea of what Super Allen should look like? (Great job by the way!)

Thank you! Yes, he is over the moon with it He was particularly excited about using hair gel for the first time, and only agreed to wash it out since I promised we'd do it again

Those are great!!

I was a bit startled before I noticed your location.

That would be way too cold here.

DD 7 yo is going to be a fairy.

DS 5 yo is going to be Nigel Marven.

Great choices in my book since
1: the fairy costume was easy and
2: we already had the Nigel clothes since ds has been obsessed with the guy for some time anyway.

our almost 15mo will be a vampire.

DS is going to be a duck! The costume was just too cute, although it looks more like a chicken, and could also be big bird (even though he doesn't know who big bird is since we don't have TV).

Because he is so small, and his head is so huge, the costume fits, but the hood doesn't... so my mom knitted him a duckie stocking cap that is the same yellow as the costume. He keeps that on longer

DS will be Yoda and DD Princess Leia

DS1 (7) will be a ghoul. He's very excited to finally be allowed to be something scary!
DS2 (2.5) will be Spiderman. I was really hoping he'd decide to be a pirate (he LOVES pirates), but he definitely preferred the Spiderman costume.

DS (age 2.5) will be a firefighter. He doesn't really seem to get the costume/ Halloween/ trick-or-treat thing, and we don't plan to take him t-or-t'ing, but we do have a party to go to (plus maybe Boo at the Zoo) and he will be a firefighter there.

DS (23 months) is going to be an actuary. I'm even making him a briefcase out of a cereal box.

DD #1 is a cowgirl, with shirt and jeans bought from a thrift store, boots and bandana borrowed from a friend and a cowboy hat we already had.

DD #2 will be Cinderella. Her dress was bought as a dress up outfit years ago. I'm making her crown, necklace, and glass slippers (aka fancy tennis shoes).

My five year old son is going to be a woodstove.

Ds (7) is requesting to be a pirate.
Both DDs ( 4 and 21 mos) are going to be fairies.

Reminds me of my younger brother.. when he was five, he wanted to dress as a brick wall. I still tease him about it to this day.

Awesome.

Daniel, 2, is going to be a penguin because we already had the costume and he doesn't care.

Nicholas, 6, is going to be Max from Where the Wild Things Are.

Katie Grace, 8, is going to be Molly from the American Girls books.

Michael, 10, is going to be something from Star Wars, but he better figure it out soon.

I told them we weren't buying costumes this year and they had to piece something together. I'd be happy to help-- I'm making Nick a wolf hat and tale for his wolf suit-- but it needs to basically be stuff from around the house.
