we just adopted an 8 mo Great Dane at the shelter on Friday. he was only there for 2 weeks and while he was there he caught a respiratory illness, for which the vet gave us an antibiotic. a friend told me that i should be giving him a probiotic because of this, but we don't even buy probiotics for ourselves because they are quite costly, let alone i don't know where i'd even begin to get a dog probiotic. would it be oK to give him kefir?
