I'm becoming more and more interested in wearing DD3... especially since she's my clingiest baby of all! I bought a newborn swing for her before she was born and had it here and ready before her arrival, but she will barely sit in it. I don't like sitting her down by herself with a curious toddler and mama hen preschooler in the household. I don't trust the jealous tomcat, either. (I think I'm finding reasons to be lazy and just cuddle with her 24/7!) Plus, I just really don't want to give up holding her while I clean and keep the household going.

I really like the way she's wearing him/her, but I'm not sure how she's got it done. I think a similar sling would work best for right now since DD3 is so small.

The mom in that picture is using a Moby, or a similar wrap. I got one and I can't wait to try it!

I use a Moby Wrap for my newborns! I definitely recommend them.

i am using a sleepy wrap with this one since he doesn't like the ring sling or hotsling i used with ds1

it's awesome - don't have to adjust it once it's on and comfie even after a c section

A stretchy wrap is great for new ones, I use a Wrapsody Bali baby stretch which is more supportive then the moby and can be used longer and for more carries Including back and hip carries. Mobys are really only good to 15 lbs and then they start to sag too much. The carry shown in the pic you posted is called a wrap cross carry. You can do that and lay the baby down or keep them upright. Woven wraps are similar, but no stretch so you have to wrap baby in, but they work from birth until toddlerhood, some even get a second life as a hammock or other in childhood

Ditto. I have Gypsymama wrap. I would be lost without it....Clementine hates the stroller. Wearing her, I can be confident she won't start fussing at the grocery store or something.

I believe I am doing Front Wrap Cross Carry, but I also do Pocket Wrap Cross Carry. If you visit theBabywearer.com, they have how-to videos posted in their wrap forum.

Wrapping was my favorite thing to do with my son up until almost age 2. Woven wraps (I have about 7 or 8 Didymos) are wonderful and so supportive. Learning to wrap can be a bit interesting but it's SO worth it.

The pocket WCC, is this like the kangaroo carry? I've not heard of that one before.

I love my didymos! I like Hoppediz too all though the big kids have claimed that one LOL! My DH will ONLY wear his BBS, he has his own. He'll still try to wear the twins in it and they're 2 and 25 lbs each LOL!

Also check out FSOT for used carriers, fall is a great time to get bargains since everyone is saving up for the holiday shopping season. Lots of cheap great quality carriers around!

Lookin' good mama! I did the same thing with DS1, I got $3 of stretchy fabric at walmart and rolled the hems. Worked great for him. We ended up getting the BBS because the twins didn't like the wraps as newborns, only pouches, but DID like the wraps after I passed them on to others . Ah well!

I have a Moby wrap, a Mei Tai & a Bjorn. I got all of them used so I was able to get more than one kind. I havent used any of them yet because Im still recovering and hardly moving around myself yet but from what I can tell by trying them all on and the way my baby is I think the Moby will be our favorite at least at first.

I've got a Cuddly Wrap (pretty much the same as the Moby) and I love it. I wore DS1 in it until he was about 8 months old, then bought an Ergo, and switched. I will probably switch a little sooner (he was well over 20 lbs when I stopped using the Cuddly) but I love to put DS2 in it now. One thing I don't like is that I can't BF in it. I have to undo the whole thing just to nurse him. If I need to nurse on the go I throw him in a ring sling, which I can adjust just perfectly to have him at the right position. I also have a rebozo, which I haven't used yet. I know my sister uses hers to put her newborns on her back, which I would love to do, but haven't figured out yet.

I have a Moby this time for DS and all I can say is LOVE IT!!!! At least when he'll go in it, he likes it only when he's not hungry which is rare. I also have a pouch sling and that is better for just a quick need to wear him for a few minutes type thing. The Moby is incredibly comfy and he sleeps great in it.

I love my wrapsody wraps!!! By far better than moby IMO. I took some pics of Sydney in the Sebastian yesterday. She loves it and it's the easiest carrier for us right now. Definitely check out the site and/or the babywearer.com to get one and read reviews.

Have you tried laying baby down in a cradle hold (like the ringsling) instead of the cuddle hold (upright) to nurse? I've had great success with this with Malcolm. I've never been able to nurse in a carrier (except once with the twins in their pouches) but I nurse this baby everywhere... including walking around the grocery store

thought i'd add a pic with us and the sleepy wrap outside (i use it inside every day)- easy to pile on sweaters and wrap in blankets and still move about hands free.
