bidding a sewing job?

I am hoping some of you brilliant women can help me! I have an opportunity to bid on a job sewing some costumes for a ballet company...my problem is...how do I bid? How many & how long it will take is kind of open for debate. I am thinking I would like to bid per costume, but I am not sure. I am guessing appx 6-8 hrs/costume. Ideas??

whenever i'm in a situation similar to this i contact someone that can help but that doesn't have a stake in it. in this instance i would probably contact another ballet company (different state or at least different area of your state). just ask them for the name & number of their costume designer/seamstress. whoever he or she is will most likely be willing to help you figure out the best way to bid. remember, they've been through the same thing you are going through...uncertainty.
