Travelling for Work - looking for advice

I will be travelling for work in mid-November for 5 days (leave Mon, come back Fri). I've been stashing milk in the freezer for months now and I'm sure I've got enough for DS... he will be 8mos and has been eating a variety of solids as well. No worries about him starving

However, I am concerned a bit about keeping up my supply while I am on the road. I already pump 2x a day at work and will be able to do that as well as when I wake up, before I go to bed... but I'm not sure when else I *need* to pump. DS does not sleep through the night. He typically wakes up 2-3 times and the only way I can easily get him to go back to sleep is by nursing. So I'm guessing I'll need to set the alarm clock and pump at least once during the night?

A friend mentioned he might wean himself during this time... is that also a real possibility? I haven't thought much about when/how I would transition from breastfeeding, but I'd hate for it to be so abrupt!

I don't work, so I don't have much advice for you about the traveling. But I know a few moms who work and travel, and they have continued breastfeeding just fine. Your pumping schedule should be ok, and I would think you could go without the midnight pumpings and enjoy a full night of sleep! 8 months is pretty young to wean - he'll probably pick right back up where he left off and be really happy to see you! Good luck!

Also: Kellymom.com is a great resource for these tricky breastfeeding questions!

I think you need to pump as often as he feeds to keep up your supply.
