looking for a gently used sling

Thread Starter
Hello,
I have been lurking here for a quite some time and finally registered. I am a single father of a 5 year old son and a 4 month old daughter. I have a sling for my DD that my friend who is an amazing mother gave to me but it is a bit to small on me. I am looking for a larger one to replace it. I think that I want to stick with a sling as I have not found a carrier that I like. I have been looking for a gently used one with little luck in any of the children's resale shops around here. Any suggestions on where else to look would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your ideas in advance,
Brian

I have had good luck with craigslist- I am actually searching for a baby carrier on there right now!

You can go to your area (Arizona) and choose the closest city http://geo.craigslist.org/iso/us/az

Good luck!n

Hi and welcome

The FSOT (for sale ot trade) section at TheBabywearer.com forums has loads of used carriers, including slings for sale at a variety of prices, but it can be a little confusing to navigate if you're new to the site and don't know all the terms used (at least it was for me).

What type of sling are you currently using? If you're using an unpadded ring sling, Jan at Sleeping Baby productions makes nice slings. She has great customer service if you have any questions, and her slings are available in a variety of lengths. I have a polyester plaid one that I use as my car carrier but if I was going to be using it as an every day carrier I'd probably want something made of cotton. She makes denim ring slings that are only 25 dollars plus shipping and denim is gender neutral. You can find those here:

If you're using a pouch sling hopefully someone else can chime in as I don't have any experience with pouches.

Good luck

I've had good luck with a Comfy Joey Reversible Pouch Right now they're on clearance, i.e. in new condition, but at a used price. The size/color selection is limited, but they're such a good deal and much easier than a ring sling, in my opinion.

The sizing chart is great, and Ayesha (owner) is very helpful via email with size questions. The size chart is applicable for both men and women.
