MMR Confused

Hi,

I am very confused! Are there separate Mumps, Measles, & Rubella shots? I have read that Merck was going to start in 2011, then I read they are not, and I also read to ask your pediatrician to order the separate vaccinations and that they ARE available. What is a mother to do????? Does anyone have any answer?

My son is 15 months and we are mostly following the Dr. Sears Alternative Vaccination Schedule. Do I wait until he is 2 and start with the MMR or can I get the separate Mumps, Measles, & Rubella shots?

If you are able to find it anywhere it is from exsisting stockpiles. Once these are gone, they are gone. The ACIP doesn't want parents to have choices apparently. If you really feel the need to get your DS vaccinated than yes, you will have to get the MMR is you can't find the separate shots (which Im hearing is VERY difficult right now). You could also def wait until he is 2 if you feel you must get the MMR.
