OK, so my midwife took one look at my BP today, and the chart I've been keeping over the past week, and we agreed that it's time to induce. A resting, lying on left side BP of ~150/105 is nothing to sneeze at. I need to have some wiggle room in there for the inevitable increase in BP during labor -- I'm going to be hard at work!
I'm still only a fingertip dilated, not effaced, but soft. His head is still high.
So she stripped my membranes, and I'm having some bloody show. (Never thought I'd be HAPPY to have blood in my underpants!) I'm going in at 6PM, and will get some cervadil and try to get some sleep.
I really hope I can get contractions going on their own by using the breast pump, walking etc. otherwise, we'll start pitocin tomorrow once the cervadil has had time to do its thing.
Induction is not my preference, but it's time, and I'm going to be positive about it and make the best. I'm excited that I will get to meet this little man tomorrow!!!
