HELP Cooked chicken w/ plastic bag WWYD??

AAAARRRGGGGHHH!!!
I have een stewing a gorgeous big fat chicken all morning and just realized when I went to check it that the giblets were in a plastic bag inside of it! DUH!!!! (I know how stupid of me not to look first - they were way down in there)
Do I need to chuck the whole thing???
Is it just a toxic pcb soup now?????

I'd probably eat the chicken and toss the broth...but that's mainly because I don't know any better and I'd really hate to waste a whole chicken. You can make new broth with the carcass.

Are you sure it was a plastic bag and not some kind of waxed paper? Wouldn't the plastic have melted?

I tossed it - thanks for the reply.
The bag was deep inside the chicken _ I think that's why it didn't melt. Yuck.
Learned a big lesson today anyway!

Haha, I probably would have ate it but probably wouldn't have served it to DS. I'm too cheap to throw meat away.

I did this once. It was so sad. I tossed it.

I did something similar last year with a turkey. I roasted it and didn't find the little packet (I looked!) that was stuffed into the neck cavity instead of the usual place until after it was done We ate the meat anyway but I didn't use the carcass. If it had been boiled I'd be more tempted to toss it. Sorry mama!
