Baby hair falling out (just curious...not worried)

Yes, I know it can be normal, but Paige's hair is falling out in clumps. Out of my four babies, this is the only one who has lost hair after birth (one was bald, though, so I guess he doesn't count). For those with experience with baby hair loss, does the color usually change when it grows back in, is it the same, or is there no way to really predict what will come back in? I think I remember hearing of blond children who had dark hair at birth, but I would think that there are some dark haired babies that also lost their original hair too.

The hair she was born with is really dark...pretty much black. Whatever color she ends up with doesn't matter to us, we are just curious about what other people have experienced.

Lucas was blond at birth, lost all his hair and grew back blond.

Sawyer has brown hair, like I did at birth. It is falling out now. We expect it to come back blond, b/c DH and I were both blond children.

My DS Kieran had very dark hair at birth. By the time he was 3 mos. old, it had all fallen out/rubbed off. It came back in white-blond, then gradually darkened over the years. Now, at almost 11 yrs., it's a light brown/dark blond color. All my other kiddos have hair in varying shades of blond.

Duncan is my only other baby who was born with hair. Like Kieran's baby hair, his is also dark brown. Unlike Kieran, though, it hasn't fallen out or thinned at all so far, and he's two months old today. If this continues, he will have the darkest hair in the family by far -- it will be interesting to watch and see what happens!

ALL my girls have been born with jet black hair. Maddie's fell out and she was ABSOLUTELY bald until she was nearly 2. Then in came in a medium blonde and has darkened into a light brown/dark ash blonde now at 7. It was never really THAT blonde though. Grace's fell out a little and was replaced by light brown that was covering her head at least by the time she was one..... It hasn't really changed colors yets at all.

Charlotte hasn't really lost much at all yet at 10 weeks. I mean, her HEAD has grown, but it's still a good 1/2 inch long around her head where it still is. I blow dry it now that it's cold outside - I just have never had a baby with hair and I don't know what the heck to DO with it

Thanks for the responses. It'll be interesting to see what this little girl's hair turns out to look like!

Julia...I totally understand not knowing what to do with the hair when a baby has a lot of it. My first was bald (turned out to be a redhead), but my second had tons of hair. I didn't have a clue what to do with it! Her first pictures look horrible...her hair looks greasy!! I figured out afterwards that a baby brush does wonders!!

My first had really dark hair. It fell out and grew back in dark still. Our 2nd has always been blonde. Our third had tons of black hair, which fell out and grew in almost white This new guy just started losing his dark hair yesterday. I wonder if he will be blonde like his brothers??
