Sort of an opposite problem

I havent really ever posted on this board as I tend to lurk more then post but I thought out of all the message boards I visit this would be the best one to ask on since the other ones many of the women have had & want inductions or c-sections.

Background:
I am planning an all natural birth with hypnobabies as my guide. I was due Oct. 23 (if you believe Naegele's rule) and my check on Wendesday was 2cm/50% effaced/-3 station. My next appt is Friday. I was 10 days over with my 1st but only because I got cervidil on 40+8 day and had a 2 day labor. I am definitely avoiding that this time and have a supportive midwife who will let me go to 42 weeks.

So my question is that I actually want to stay pregnant until 42 weeks because my dear hubby will not be home until about that time. So I want him to be here for the birth and I would hate for him to miss the birth by just a few days. So is there any way I can actually fend off labor until 42 weeks? I know this may seem the opposite problem that other over 40 week moms have. I am actually not all that miserable or uncomfortable. Sure I feel large out in front but otherwise I'm getting through my days fairly well.

Thanks for reading.

I'd avoid all the things us ladies who are 40+ are trying! No spicy food, no sex, no epo, don't go for long walks or do anything physically exerting, etc. Babies do come when they're ready though.

That;s what I was going to say. Lay around and do nothing!
